South Wales Police are appealing for witnesses following a three-vehicle collision which occurred on Port Road West at approximately 9.15am today (Monday 12 April).

The collision involved a red Vauxhall Astra, a black Audi A3 and a grey Ford Focus, say SWP.

An eight-month-old baby was recovered from the collision with no injuries, Nub News understands.

Two people – the drivers of the Audi and the Ford Focus – were taken to the University Hospital of Wales with serous injuries.

The road was closed for several hours to allow for the investigate work to be carried out.

"Motorists are thanked for their patience and cooperation during this time," said a statement from South Wales Police.

"Anyone who witnessed the collision, or the manner in which any of the vehicles were being driven in the moments prior to it, is asked to contact police, quoting occurrence 2100125924."
