Police Appeal Following Attack and Robbery on 62 Year Old Man in Barry Town

Police in Barry are appealing for information following a town centre robbery yesterday afternoon (Thursday, 25 June 2020).

A 62 year-old man was attacked as he walked in a lane between Lombard Street and Regent Street at approximately 1.25 pm.

An envelope containing a large amount of cash was stolen from his back pocket – as he turned around to confront the robber, he was kicked in the stomach which caused him significant pain.

The person responsible is described as being 18 to 20 years old, approximately 5ft 10 with a slim build, and of Asian appearance, wearing a black face mask, a dark 'NY' baseball cap, dark t-shirt and jeans.

Anybody who believes they may have seen the incident or may know the person responsible, should contact 101 immediately and giving reference
