The Vale of Glamorgan council has set up a service which means that residents in Barry can order essential recycling bags if necessary.

They said: ''As public buildings are closed due to COVID-19, please complete this form for a delivery of a replacement reusable recycling bags or containers.

''We will aim to deliver within the next 14 days.

''Please only request delivery if bags are absolutely essential as we have limited staff at this time and they are concentrating on delivering our higher priority services.

''Simply complete our online order form to request. We will aim to deliver within 14 days.''

Residents had queried online where they could get additional bags during the coronavirus pandemic as council buildings, libraries and recycling centres remain closed.

Garden Waste collection will reconvene from next week after being temporarily suspended due to staff shortages.
