The Welsh Government will today announce the reopening of the indoors of care homes to visitors, making 29 August a day to look forward to for residents and their families.

Until that point, only outdoor visits will be allowed, as has been the case since June.

In an announcement later this afternoon, First Minister Mark Drakeford will also ease other COVID-19 restrictions.

These include expanding extended households to include up to four other households - i.e. allowing four separate immediate families to form a bubble.

Wedding and funerals will now also be able to provide a meal for up to 30 attendees, as long as social distancing is observed.

Visit Nub News this afternoon for a full report on the First Minister's statement.
