With Music in Mind exercise group
Margaret Alexander Community Centre
UNTIL Thursday 27th May
Our exercise and social groups are based on research that demonstrates that gentle exercise improves physical wellbeing, mobility, flexibility, strength and balance. It will also improve mood, wellbeing and reduces stress as well as reducing the risk of social isolation and loneliness.
Our tai chi sessions are led by Lindsey Newman, and our strength and balance sessions are led by Chloe Buttery. Occasionally we are joined by external guest leaders who bring more diversity.
The first half hour consists of gentle exercise, and the sessions are always relaxed! Go at your own pace - there's no pressure!
The second hour consists of a variety of social activities. Sometimes this might be a quiz, or a game of petanque, or we might have a talk from a speaker or just a good old chat. Refreshments are provided by With Music In Mind, which include tea and coffee, fruit, cakes and biscuits. Most dietary requirements can be accommodated, if you let us know in advance.
