South Wales Police Bridgend and the Vale of Glamorgan have issued a warning after a significant amount of scamming reports in the local area.

They said: ''We are receiving a high number of calls from members of the public receiving a scam phone call at their home this morning.

The scam is a recorded male voice which says "there is a warrant out for your arrest due to an outstanding tax bill".

Please be aware and inform your elderly relatives and neighbours. Please simply hang up your receiver and don't engage.
