One of the co-owners of The Small Space Theatre, Bryan Gunton, has made a statement announcing that he will be stepping down from the company.
Located at 5 Island Road in Barry, The Small Space is a converted one up one down Victorian shop with a 20/25 seat theatre downstairs and a fully licensed bar upstairs.
The Small Space hosts movies, productions and magician events.
Bryan and his business partner, Jasper Blakeley, are both full-time magicians and both perform shows in the theatre.
Following extensive renovation/conversion work in late 2017, they opened in February 2018.
Mr Guton made a statement on Facebook. He said: "After two years at The Small Space, I will be stepping down from the theatre.
''The 31st of January will be my last show as co-owner of the theatre. This has not been an easy decision but one I feel I have to make to allow me to concentrate on other projects.
''I am immensely proud of the Theatre and will still occasionally be performing there but it’s time for me to move on.
''Two years ago we were about to open this converted shop with no idea if it would work or indeed if people would visit.
''After two years and over 3000 visitors, we know we have created something special. We have become the number one concert and show venue in South Wales on trip advisor and even been on National TV, Papers and Radio.
''So from the 1st of February Jasper will be the sole owner of The Small Space. He has some fantastic plans for the venue to go from strength to strength and I can’t wait to pop back ether to visit or perform.
''I would just like to thank all the kind visitors who have supported us and indeed those who have come to see me perform at the venue.”
