Barry Trains Cancelled and Delayed Due to Flooding

If you're planning to get a train to or from Barry today it is advised to check your journey as most services are severely delayed or cancelled due to flooding on the lines.

Transport for Wales made an announcement that said: ''Alterations to this service are due to heavy rain flooding the railway.

''If you have experienced a delay or cancellation, please contact our customer relations team or pick up a form from your nearest ticket office. You can email us using: [email protected]

''Train services running to and from these stations may be cancelled or delayed by up to 15 minutes. Disruption is expected until 12:00 17/02.

The line is also affected by the following issues:

• Due to heavy rain flooding the railway at Pontypridd all lines are blocked. Train services running through this station may be terminated at and started back from Pontypridd. Disruption is expected until the end of the day. Customers are advised that the route between Pontypridd and Aberdare/Merthyr Tydfil/Treherbert is blocked by floodwater. Arrangements have been made for Transport for Wales rail tickets to be accepted for journeys with Stagecoach South Wales Buses.

• Due to heavy rain flooding the railway between Aberdare and Pontypridd all lines are blocked. Train services running to and from these stations may be cancelled. Disruption is expected until 12:00 17/02.
