Barry Passengers Warned to Plan Ahead for Cardiff Train Journeys this Weekend

Make sure you plan ahead with any train trips from Barry Island to Cardiff this weekend.

Engineering work is taking place in the Cardiff Central area which will result in the closing and/ or disruption of some rail lines over the weekend.

Barry Island, Penarth and Vale of Glamorgan services will not call at Cardiff Queen Street, Cathays and Llandaf.

Bus replacements will be in place to help passengers get to their final destinations.

As a result of this, passengers wishing to travel between Barry/ Penarth and the Valley Line stations will be required to change to a different train at Cardiff Central to continue onto their destination.

Replacement Bus Travel Advice:

You can find the location of your bus replacement by checking station signs or by searching for your station on our station information pages.

Bicycles are not allowed on rail replacement bus services at any time, unless fully folded. More travel advice for your replacement bus journey is available by selecting the Train Operating Company you are travelling with here.
