The Barry Beach huts could become a place for weddings and civil ceremonies if enough interest is shown.

The Vale council launched a poll on their Twitter account today asking whether locals would like the idea of the beach huts uses for these events.

The response so far has been positive with 77% of respondents currently stating their approval.

The two blocks of twelve huts sit either side of the climbing wall and take centre stage on the rejuvenated eastern promenade.

Both are currently designed to provide families and groups visiting Barry Island with a comfortable base for the day as well as a private area to change and store their possessions.

Residents can currently hire a beach hut but not for the purposes of events.
